It is a screening of Vadym Okhremenko’s short story “Tsybala”.
The action takes place during the civil war in Ukraine. “An apolitical ordinary man” Apolon Shmyguiev thumbs his nose at all ideologies, representatives of which are struggling on the streets of Kyiv. In search of better fortune, he first aligns himself with the Reds, then with the White army and “neutral” troops. He gets statuses everywhere due to his flexibility. His only aim is to make money. And fortune favours him. A camel is another film protagonist. By chance, the man becomes its herder and travels on it over Ukraine.
The adventure road movie, in which the Soviet regime saw a parody on itself, was forbidden.
